…sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?
But again when you really think about it and look through your music collection, you might realize that even though they don’t have an actual recorded duet, you may be listening quite regularly to music from both of them.
Now imagine a man who has two farms and plants all of his seed in farm A but comes at harvest to farm B expecting a bumper crop. God calls such a man delusional! here’s how He puts it…
Galatians 6:7-8 (KJV)
7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Many times we look at our lives frustrated at how tough it seems to do the right thing, even Apostle Paul once expressed the same frustration about finding himself always doing stuff he had had sworn off (Rom 7:15). At those times we are probably like that delusional farmer, we spend all our time sowing to the flesh and then when we reap a harvest of corruption (doing wrong stuff) we are perplexed.
Going forward, view every movie, website, hang out, book, meeting etc. as seeds and ask the critical question, is this seed being sown to my spirit or my flesh. If you want a harvest of good deeds that lead to peace and everlasting life, sow only to your spirit. Don’t continue to create for yourself the ridiculous collabo of Don Moen and Don Jazzy.
